The Journey of Wacław Antczak to the Kiosk in Główna Street, 1973, 4’32”, 35 mm
In the attempt to objectify the film recording, the participation of the creator and director in this film was limited to formulating a concept and developing a production plan. The artist engaged the eponymous Wacław Antczak, who appears for a few seconds in the first shot of the film. The others are recorded by a camera tied to Antczak’s back as he travels his bike to the kiosk and back. The effect of continuous registration is a record of the city space passed by a cyclist, or rather its view closed in an oblique frame. It turned out to be a result, unforeseen by the artist, of tilting the camera and depriving the producer of the possibility of influencing the formal qualities of the recording.
