HYPOTHETICAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Hypothetical Photography, 1977

A work in which photography became the starting point for hypothetical considerations of its relationship with reality. The reference for the next nine boards is the first one with a photo of the city landscape, which is transformed by means of a drawing. Starting with a perspective projection made with a technical drawing showing the contours of the photographed architecture. The changing, more and more inclined angle of the projection flattens and transforms the representation until it turns into an abstract drawing, in which the relations between the points are an echo of the spatial relations reduced to a two-dimensional plane.
