The catalogue presents works of Krzysztof Wodiczko from the period from 1969 up to 1979, both reconstructed and preserved, projects that were executed and others that functioned only as designs, as well as performative, ephemeral and collective practices. Comprehensive documentation provides insight into Wodiczko’s 1970s work, his ironic-polemical situation toward the modernist tradition and the era’s artistic culture. The publication shows how the art created by Wodiczko in the 1970s, as he was discovering the avant-garde utopia in confrontation with the realities and ideologized culture of People’s Poland, provided both a critical and utopian impulse for all his subsequent work. The catalogue contains an article by Andrzej Turowski and an interview with the artist.
