We invite you to a meeting with Krzysztof Wodiczko, the creator of the “Triumphal Arch – The World Institute for the Abolition of Wars” project (2010), which is presented as part of the BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL exhibition.

The artist will present the idea of the project of transforming one of the largest and most important war memorials into a monument intended to become an institution dealing with the disarming of culture and memory, a place that challenges the culture of war.

The creator of art that confronts the mechanisms of generating threats and violence, urges people to detoxify culture and art infected with war. The author of the book The Abolition of War (2012) argues for the construction of new narratives that will no longer repeat and reproduce the cult of wars and victims.

Krzysztof Wodiczko, a spokesman for socially and politically engaged art, has carried out a number of projections and installations in public space, in which he has taken up the idea of “no-war” culture. How to remember? This is a question that the artist poses in his subsequent projects.
