Teresa Tyszkiewicz constantly performed with herself, used her own body in actions improvised for the camera, recorded in photographs and films. A body immersed in grain, wrapped in cotton wool, feathers, crushed with stones, wrapped in foil, covered with pins, stuck with noodles, indicated an extremely sensual, bodily way of experiencing the world. In her performances and film productions, the artist emancipated female sexuality by reaching for a repertoire of erotic and fetish references. At the same time, she referred to archetypal meanings and subjective, sometimes very intimate experiences.
