The artist’s new project was initiated by the question: to what extent can a line be a carrier of universal meanings, identity contents, existential or social issues. The author’s interests focused on the presence of lines in drawings, in reality, in space and on the body of the line itself.

The starting material were drawings made on the hands of different people, fascination with the intertwining of the subject of lines and hands, through which curiosity about the world speaks. Hands that communicate by touch and influence the feeling and thinking about reality. Observing hands suggested   the thought of the lines of their contact with the surfaces of various objects,   the lines of gestures of being in the world and the lines written on the hands. These observations led to the imagination of various drawings reflecting the systems of mutual relations of individual fingers, one hand to the other, their relations to the whole body and what surrounds it.

The capture can be understood as a gesture of touch but also as an attempt to understand something, to name and extract meaning. For the artist, the most important thing is this moment of suspension in the ambiguity, before             the meanings are tamed, stopping at the very feeling between the hand and the surroundings.

Starting from thedocumentation of drawings on hands, she “was taking lines off” andtransferred into the world of imagination, in which they were freed fromprevious meanings. These “taked lines” gave rise to several series ofworks, becoming the leading motif in photographic, drawing and painting cycles.

In earlier projects, makinguse of line as a synonym for boundaries and divisions, the artist moved in thearea of symbolic culture. In her latest project, she perceives lines beyond anyideology, directing our attention to these special interactions between thehand, its movement and the surroundings. Works created from the intertwining oftouch and seeing invisible lines, in their own way visualise elusiveexperiences of perceiving the world and our situating in it.
