Weariness of My Leg, 1976, 9′
Video performance realized at the m gallery in Bochum. The 30-minute record shows the artist standing on one leg and holding a camera, which films an image of a square drawn on a wall, the image is displayed on the monitor. The fatigue of the title is more and more visible in the displayed image, its vibrations and shifts of the hand losing its confidence. As a result, we are dealing with a registration of the artist recording the image and, what is more, a registration in which is inscribed the psychophysiological presence of the author, the coupling of his body with the mechanical medium of the camera, visible in the vibrations of the image.
