Negative/Positive: Rzeczy, 1972

A series of photos in which the artist juxtaposed positive and negative photographic images of interiors and everyday objects. The black-and-white photos were accompanied by questions about the objectivity of photographic recording, whether the positive resulting from chemical “processing” is closer to reality, or the negative being a more direct form of recording, which, however, changes the brightness of the tones and turns the image into its negative reflection.
