CRASH

Crash, 1972

The work was created when the artist was the director’s assistant, Andrzej Kondratiuka, while working on the film Scorpion, Panna i Łucznik. While filming the scene of an accident, a car falling from a high hill, the artist standing below took two photos, which became the starting point for a 42-frame photographic montage. In addition to two distant shots with a falling car, he included photos showing fragments and details of a crashed car and staged photos, for which the actress, Iga Cembrzyńska, a victim of a film accident, posed.
