STRANGE PORTRAITS

Strange Portraits, 2006 -2008

The series of painting portraits with masked, armed figures was a perverse game with media mechanisms of “cloning” terror. The next pictures show the stars of world cinema, among others Robert de N., Leonardo di C., Tom C. associated with specific Hollywood productions. The artist portrays film heroes and, at the same time, celebrities of the mass imagination as phantom heroes without a face but with a weapon pointed at us. It shows how representations of terror duplicate, circle, invert meanings and frighten their creators, how in a war images are easy to fall victim to their own images.
